Barossa Famer's Market

Another place to give me a reason why I love Barossa Valley. Nice little shops and lovely surroundings. Unlike other farmer's markets, or Sunday market, this market has more shops for small goods and fine food. They still have fresh vegetables and fruit shops, but more shops are focused on fine food. Eleni bakery is a good example. They have fantastic ciabatta and focaccia bread. I regularly drive to this market once a month for their bread from Adelaide. I also love fruit & veg shop, where they sell delicious Riverland fruits. Good coffee and breakfast are available, too. Most shops are indoors, so very handy even if it is raining in winter. Another benefit of this market is the vinyard next to the carpark. You can see beautiful color in Autumn. A great place to visit all year round, and if you are a tourist in the area, don't miss this market out! Remember this market only opened on Saturday morning.

 

와인으로 유명한 바로사 밸리에 있는 토요일 마켓입니다. 매주 토요일 오전에만 엽니다. 주로 바로사 지역에서 생산되는 small goods나 야채, 과일 등을 파는 곳이죠. 가게가 대부분 큰 건물 안에 있어서 다른 선데이 마켓과 달리 비오는 날에도 편하게 쇼핑 가능하다는 장점도 있습니다. 한 번 구경거리로 갈 만한 곳이기도 하지만 전 여기를 정기적으로 두어달에 한 번씩 다녀옵니다.

 

제가 여기에 자주 가는 가장 큰 이유는 Eleni Bakery라는 빵집입니다. 여기서 Ciabatta랑 Focaccia를 파는데 그 퀄리티가 상당히 좋아요. 특히 Ciabatta는 과연 남호주 최고의 Ciabatta라고 해도 과언이 아닐 정도로 맛있습니다. 겉은 쫄깃하고 속은 촉촉한 것이 아마도 우드 오븐에서 굽는 것 같더라고요. 마켓 열리는 날은 그날 아침에 구워온 빵을 파는데 신선하고 너무 맛있습니다.

 

그 외에도 맛있는 리버랜드 산 과일을 파는 야채&과일 가게나, 올리브 오일 샵 등등도 좋습니다. 한쪽 카페에서 파는 음식과 커피도 괜찮고요. 그리고 덤으로 여기 주차장 옆에 포도밭이 있는데 봄이나 여름도 좋지만 가을 되면 단풍이 노랗게 물들면서 사진찍기도 좋습니다. 근처에 유명한 와이너리도 많고 매기 비어 같은 관광지도 있으니 토요일 하루 겸사겸사 놀러 다녀오기 좋은 곳입니다.
