Tonkatsu

Restaurant quality tonkatsu for food court price!! One of the best tonkatsu (Japanese style pork cutlet) places in Adelaide. They have few other menus, such as noodles or rice dishes, but I only eat tonkatsu here, so only can recommend tonkatsu. Remember their name is TONKATSU! It is a small takeaway shop in food court. However, at least their tonkatsu is way above food court quality. I love tonkatsu and used to go other fancy Japanese restaurants in Adelaide for tonkatsu. Now this is the only place I go when I would like to have tonkatsu. Their tonkatsu was always cooked to perfection juicy, soft meat with crunch and crispy crumb. The food price is also very reasonable. They have variety of Japanese drink as well including my favorite Calpice Water. I highly recommend this place to any tonkatsu lovers in Adelaide. The only downside to me may be customer service. It's not bad, but little more smile and friendly approch can make their customer happy and end up make the owner happy too. :)

 

코스트코 많이들 가시죠? Tonkatsu는 코스트코가 있는 처칠 쇼핑센터 안 푸드코드에 있는 돈가스 집입니다. 이름이 Tonkatsu인 이유는 일본식 발음 톤카츠에서 따왔기 때문이겠죠? 우리나라로 넘어오면서 돈까스가 된 것이고..

 

겉보기는 평범한 푸드코드내 식당이지만 생각보다 일식 돈까스를 제대로 튀깁니다. 두툼한 고기가 딱 적당히 육즙이 도는 핑크빛으로 익을 정도에 겉은 바삭한 튀김옷이 입혀진 정통 일식 돈가스 말이죠. 제가 돈까스를 좋아해서 애들레이드 나름 잘한다는 일식당들 많이 가봤지만 (Wasai, Sato 등등) 그들과 비교해도 전혀 꿀릴 게 없는, 아니 바쁘지 않은 시간에 가면 오히려 더 뛰어난 것 같은 수준의 일식 돈까스가 나옵니다.

 

돈까스 외에 라멘이라던가 덮밥 등의 다양한 메뉴를 팔고 있지만 전 이 집에 가는 목적이 오로지 돈까스라 돈까스만 먹기 때문에 다른 메뉴 추천은 모르겠네요. 돈까스 메뉴 중에선 8번과 9번 메뉴가 제일 맛있습니다. 8번은 등심과 안심 돈까스 콤보, 9번은 돈까스, 새우까스, 치킨까스 콤보입니다. 다양하게 드시는 거 좋아하시면 9번도 좋아요. 메인을 시키면 밥, 미소국, 미역반찬과 단무지, 샐러드가 같이 나옵니다. 코스트코 장보러 가는 김에 들리기 좋아요.
